Aspiring to Assistant & Deputy Headship

The Aspiring to Assistant and Deputy Headship conference is a cross-phase course designed to advise and support on the application process for those seeking a senior leadership role in a Catholic School. The course will include presentations by tutors, group work and discussions, time for personal reflection, planning, prayer and celebration. It will also help participants consider the roles and responsibilities of an assistant or deputy headteacher in a Catholic setting by helping you to:

    • develop a vision and strategic view for the school which stems from the contemporary educational mission of the church;
    • develop the Spiritual dimension of leadership in a Catholic setting;
    • prepare to share responsibility in the management of staff and resources which demonstrates an awareness of their unique contribution as individuals, valued and loved by God;
    • in their search for excellence in teaching and learning which responds to the needs and aspirations of pupils in ways which acknowledge their individual worth as children of God;
    • prepare for making an application;
    • have opportunities for networking in Dioceses.
