    Our Provision Map charts the continuum of Continuing Professional Leadership Development & Formation offered by each Diocese and the NWCDTP partnership. We have a joint agreement that training offered by each Diocesan education team is made available cross-diocesan boundaries where this is useful.

    Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies

    The CCRS is available for all colleagues intending to remain or progress within Catholic education. This is a two year course and students study six core modules and two specialised modules at various venues across the Dioceses, or through online-distance-learning, producing one assignment per module. Contact your Diocesan education team for further details.

    Initial Teacher Training

    PGCE: A number of our schools offer the PGCE programme through their SCITT, Teaching School & School Direct programmes, which can be applied for via UCAS Teacher Training. Contact your Diocesan education team for further details.

    Newly Qualified Teachers

    NQT Induction: Early Career Formation & Induction Programmes are offered through the provision of each Diocese. Contact your Diocesan education team for further details.

    Recently Qualified Teachers

    For staff two or three years into teaching. Programmes are offered through the provision of each Diocese. Contact your Diocesan education team for further details.

    Senior Leadership & Governance

    Programmes are offered through the provision of each Diocese, the NWCDTP and through our partner organisations.

    • The future provision for Senior Leadership is being reviewed during the 2026-27 academic year for September 2027 onwards.

    A Senior Leader Formation Residential which will take place 25th – 26th February at the Wrightington Hotel

    The Aspiring to Headship or Deputy Headship Programme with two cohort windows:

    • Cohort 1 – Autumn Term
    • Session 1 – Application Process: Thursday 1st October 2026 4pm - 5pm (online)
    • Session 2 – Interview Process: Wednesday 25th November 2026 9.30am-4pm (in-person St Margaret Clitherow centre Liverpool)
    • Cohort 2 – Spring Term
    • Session 1 – Application Process: Thursday 7th  January 2027, 4pm -5.00pm (online)

    School Governance

    Programmes are offered through the provision of each Diocese and the National Formatio Strategy.

    Executive Leadership

    The CES offers the Catholic Executive Leadership Formation Programme, two residential developmental programmes, focused on executive leadership and the role of the Catholic Senior Executive Leader (CEO).
